From October 7-9, 2022, K/QRT headed to Salisbury, Maryland for Salisbury University’s Sea Gull Century bike tour, a ride benefitting a number of non-profit organizations including American Red Cross, Children’s Literature Festival, Big Brothers Big Sister and many more.
The weekend started with Cyclist by the Sea, a 30-mile pre century ride from Ocean, City to Bethany Beach. On Saturday, the team geared up in their warmest layers for a windy century.
For some members, like Jermaya Cox, this ride is their very first century. Here’s what she had to say about the experience:
“I faced many obstacles from start to finish but quitting wasn’t an option. It was windy, it was cold and it was even raining for a moment. I didn’t finish as fast as I intended to but got out there pressed through and OWNED IT.” - Jeremiah Cox
Later that day, everyone recovered at a beach bonfire hosted by Philadelphia’s Major Taylor. The weekend with fellowship, tacos, and a feisty game of uno. Check out more photos of the event below.
