From January 26-30, 2023, 80+ members KRT/QRT headed to the west coat to the attend the all clubs gala! Here is a day by day break down of what we did.
On the first day, KRT/QRT hosted a 25-mile shakeout ride along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. @adrian & @seth led the pack to some of the most scenic spots where members had the opportunity to take in the views and capture the memories. In the evening, we made our way to the Crypto Arena to fellowship and chill during the LA Clippers vs. San Antonio Spurs game. With three suites reserved exclusively for members, we made sure to enjoy ourselves before heading into a weekend full of cycling and fun.
On day two, nearly 350 cyclists set out together to tackle 55 miles out and back. Led by @charon & @bahati, the group started in Long Beach to the midpoint of Crystal Cove State Park. Special thanks to Jessica and Tammy for being SAG support for the club! In the afternoon, members came with pen and paper to take notes for the highly anticipated @allclubs immersive sessions. Shout out to @grayglizzy for hosting the sessions, @kate for her advocacy work at Zwift, and @alma for dropping extraordinary habit gems. Special shout-out goes to our very own, @taisha for moderating the Queens Round Table Discussion & @jenna & @kd for their amazing discussions on diversity & inclusion within cycling. To cap off the night members attended a meet & greet @agaves and fellowship.
Day three began with a quest to the popular landmark, The Korean Bell of Friendship. The club took an amazing group shot, where we all sported our exclusive LA jersey. Shortly thereafter, several brave souls went looking for extra miles. In the evening, members exchanged their kits for formal wear to attend the @allclubs_la gala. Our very own, @curranj, served as both a keynote speaker and a reminder to never stop believing. The guest speakers, the ambiance & the attendees all added to what we considered a night to remember forever.
On day four, members enjoyed fellowship time with the club. KRT/QRT watched the Eagles claim their spot in Superbowl and demolish the San Francisco 49ers! Members stayed extra days to get more miles and enjoy the sunshine. Overall we had a great time hanging on the west coast. We will be back next year!
